Keira Knightley's husband hasn't been able to teach her how to play guitar.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actress had been getting lessons from her spouse, Klaxons musician James Righton, ahead of starring in 'Can a Song Save Your Life?', in which she had to play and sing, but she admits she is still terrible at it.

She told People magazine: "He helped me try to learn the guitar, and I don't think he'll ever do that again. I'm terrible, and he may have found it too stressful."

The 28-year-old actress managed to look convincing wielding her guitar on camera, but hurt her fingers so much pressing the strings she has no plans to branch out and start on a career as a musician.

She explained:"My fingers looked awful. They were callused and looked disgusting. I stopped playing and tried going back to it, but my fingers hurt too much, so I'm not going to do it again. I'll let [James] do all the playing."

Multi-instrumentalist James is the keyboard player in Klaxons, who released their last album 'Surfing the Void' in 2010.

Keira and James wed in May at a small ceremony in the south of France, with just 11 guests at the wedding and 50 at the reception. She recently presented him with a £40,000 Rolex watch as a 30th birthday present.
