Kendra Wilkinson took part in I’m A Celebrity… Ger Me Out of Here! To take time out from the difficult year that she has had.
Wilkinson’s seven-year marriage to former American football star Hank Baskett has come under intense pressure this year, after it was reported that he had cheated on her with a transsexual model and friend of the star.
Jessica Hall has been at the side of Wilkinson as she has tried to find her way through her marriage problems, and admits that the reality show - which has put Wilkinson in the jungle in Australia - has allowed her to take some ‘time out’ from all the trouble that she has been facing.
Speaking to The Sun, Hall said: "She wanted to do it to prove to herself what a strong person she is, because she has had a tough year. She needed the time out.
"When it [the news of Hank's alleged cheating] came out, I never left Kendra's side. I was there from step one and it was hard to watch as a friend."
Wilkinson is in the jungle alongside the likes of Edwina Currie, Tinchy Stryder, Melanie Sykes, and Carl Fogarty. Wilkinson survived the first elimination from the show, as Jimmy Bullard was the first person to be voted off the show earlier this week.
And Hall hopes that after her experience in the jungle, Kendra and Hank - who have two children, four-year-old Hank and six-month-old Alijah - can work out their problems and get back together.
She continued: "It was out of control. But you have to remember there are two sides to every story.
"I would love to see them make it work, because I adore both of them and they are terrific together. I'm rooting for Hank. And she is learning things all the time in the jungle."
Kendra and Hank married back in 2009 at the Playboy mansion, and the couple welcomed their first child, Hank Baskett IV, six months after they wed.
In October 2013, Wilkinson announced that she was pregnant with her second child and gave birth to daughter Alijah Mary Baskett in May of this year.
