The Atomic Kitten singer split from third husband George Kay in October after 11 months of marriage following his arrest for allegedly assaulting her at their marital home, an attack which apparently left her with bruises to her face.

The 35-year-old muscle man has since been charged with assault by beating and unlawful possession of a stun gun and will stand before a judge next month.

Despite the turbulence in her private life, Kerry is adamant she will come through this latest split and create something positive from it.

Making an empowering Twitter post, she said: "When you are left with nothing but BROKEN PIECES, take them, rearrange them, and make MASTERPIECES. (sic)"

Kerry has made lots of decisions to change her life since her marriage imploded.

Since quit the couple's home in Crowborough, East Sussex, and relocated to a new property with her five kids - Molly, 14, and Lilly-Sue, 12, her daughters with first husband Brian McFadden, daughter Heidi, eight, and seven-year-old son Max with second spouse Mark Croft, and 17-month-old daughter Dylan with George.

This week, the 35-year-old blonde beauty made the effort to meet up with friends for a much-needed night out.

She revealed in a tweet: "Finally getting my arse out of the house with a few friends for a meal and drinks!! (sic)"

However, the strains of her separation may still be playing on her mind as Kerry admitted she has been struggling to sleep.

A late night tweet read: "Bloody wide awake again!! gonna watch an ep of 24!! (sic)"
