Lainey Wilson has welcomed the rise of country music

The 31-year-old star believes country music is on the rise and she's thrilled that Beyonce has decided to follow the trend by releasing her own country album.

Lainey told 'Extra': "It's really exciting to see how the country genre is growing so much.

"It's not just that, it's honestly the Western way of life. I feel like everybody wants to feel at home, everybody wants to feel grounded.

"When you get on the back of a horse or when you're out with your feet in the dirt or when you're listening to a country song, the truth is you feel at home."

Beyonce, 42, recently announced that she'll release her new album 'Act II' on March 29, and Lainey believes it will help country music more broadly.

She said: "I love it. The more the merrier. I'm like, again, it's, it's about that storytelling, it's about ... It's just about making people feel at home … and everybody wants to feel at home."

Earlier this month, Maren Morris confessed to being wowed by Beyonce's country music.

The award-winning star recently launched two new country music songs - 'Texas Hold 'Em' and '16 Carriages' - and Maren is impressed that Beyonce is able to make such a seamless transition between different musical genres.

The 33-year-old singer - whose music is rooted in the country genre - told E! News: "I feel like she's always been genre-less, but I think the leaning into country elements and sort of reclaiming country music back to black people because they created the genre is such a statement.

"Rhiannon Giddens playing banjo on 'Texas Hold ‘Em', which is such an amazing statement in itself."
