The former 'Real Housewives of Orange County' star took a Covid-19 test after she started to feel "extreme lethargy", after initially thinking she just had a cold, and she is now suffering with "extreme exhaustion" as she battles the virus.

She wrote on her Instagram Stories: "I tested positive for Covid. I have been safe while traveling but I had an exchange on Tuesday where I did not protect myself and this is when I had to have been infected.

"I am feeling poorly but I am ok. I went in to be tested mainly due to extreme lethargy, but I just knew I was positive. I don't have a fever. I do have extreme exhaustion, sneezing, a mild cough, and diarrhea.

"I think I'm losing my sense of smell.

"Basically, I thought I had a cold but it never developed into a traditional cold. And with my extreme fatigue I knew something was off.

"I have been under immense amounts of stress recently and I knew my immune system was low bc of that. So despite having been directly exposed multiple times, this was the time that got me. (sic)"

The 36-year-old star is now planning to isolate for at least 10 days.

She added: "I have been safe with distancing and masks since Tuesday including when I went to dinner solo and stayed distant and wore a mask at Haye's soccer.

"I have contacted everyone and will isolate for 10 days minimum per CDC guidelines. My children will have to stay with my parents as they cannot stay at my house while I'm sick. (sic)"

One fan then asked if she had gone out to dinner "knowing [she] had Covid", but Meghan replied: "Absolutely not! Not in a million trillion years (sic)"

Another Instagram user asked her why she hadn't stayed at home "knowing Covid was getting worse".

But Meghan hit back: "I did stay at home! Let me make myself very, very clear. The millisecond I thought I could have something other than a cold I went and got tested.

"I would NEVER go out in public whilst even believing in the slightest I could have Covid. (sic)"
