Michelle Williams' daughter is beginning to realise her mother is famous and is very proud that she played the good witch in 'Oz: The Great & Powerful'.

The 'My Week with Marilyn' star said her seven-year-old little girl, Matilda Rose Ledger, whose father is the late Oscar-winner Heath Ledger, has only recently taken an interest in her career even though they are "always" on film sets together.

Michelle Williams' daughter is only beginning to realise her mother is famous

Speaking at the New Yorker Festival at the School of Visual Arts Theater in New York City, Michelle said: "She is starting to understand that more and more. I mean she knows a lot about Glinda the Good Witch [from 'Oz the Great and Powerful']. She knows a lot about who that is and what that was and she was very - she was so excited to be that for Halloween. She would go up to people in the park and be like, 'My mommy is Glinda the Good Witch in the Oz movie. There are two bad ones and only one good one and that's my mommy.'

"I'm very lucky she's very outgoing, very friendly. [She] likes meeting people and new experiences, so she makes it easy."

But the actress is determined to make sure her daughter enjoys a normal childhood, no matter where they are in the world.

She said: "We have boxes, with familiar picture frames on the wall ... the soft, cosy blanket that goes on the couch. So some kind of continuity is built up."

The 32-year-old actress recently took Matilda to visit Wilmington, North Carolina, where 'Dawson's Creek' was set.

She said: "I actually hadn't been back since the show ended but I went back and took my daughter on vacation and saw people I hadn't seen in 10 years and went all the places that we used to go. And it was great. It was actually a real stroke of luck to be transported there."
