Nicki Minaj was reportedly the victim of a ‘swatting’ attack

The ‘Anaconda’ rapper, 40, is said to have been targeted by an anonymous caller who falsely told police her two-year-old son, who she has with husband Kenneth Petty, 45, was being abused.

TMZ reported the fraudster called child services, which led to Los Angeles Police Department sheriff’s deputies showing up at Nicki’s California mansion.

A law enforcement source told the outlet “the attempted swatting went down earlier this month when child services got an anonymous call alleging child abuse at Nicki's LA-area home”.

TMZ added: “We’re told sheriff's deputies rolled up to Nicki's place around 6pm Monday, but after speaking with her and her husband Kenneth Petty... and looking at their almost three-year-old child, determined there was no abuse and everything was kosher.

“Our sources say deputies chalked it up to a swatting call, and officers want everyone to know these sorts of calls are a huge waste of time and resources.”

A few hours later, another caller is said to have phoned 911 to report a fire at Nicki’s house.

It soon became apparent the singer had been “swatted” and there was no truth to the bogus phone calls, with the ‘Super Bass’ rapper now said to be pursuing legal action against those involved.

‘Swatting’ is the act of calling the cops or falsely reporting a crime in the hopes a large police response, or even a S.W.A.T. team, will show up at a specific location and is renowned for wasting police time and resources.

Nicki had her son, who she calls ‘Papa Bear’, in September 2020, nearly a year after she married Kenneth.

She told her fans on Twitter three months after the boy’s birth she went into labour just after she “got out of the shower”, adding: “As soon as I started scooting over to (Kenneth) in the bed I just felt the water start coming out.”

Nicki also revealed her epidural “didn’t hurt” and put her “a** right to sleep”.

She has also told Complex she feels she was “put here to be a mother”, adding:

“I definitely will be married before I have my baby. I want to make sure I do it in that order. I’ve always felt like that since I was young; my mother always put that in my head.”
