Owen Wilson doesn't want his son to become an actor.
The 'Internship' star would be worried if his two-year-old son Robert were to pursue a showbiz career when he grows up because of the tough nature of the film industry.
Asked how he would react if Robert wanted to be an actor, Owen sighed: "Well jeez, I think that would be hard. In the entertainment industry the odds are stacked so much against you, it's difficult.
"You'd be dealing with a lot of rejection ... If he wanted to be a cinematographer, that would be fine."
The 44-year-old big screen joker has never had any qualms about his own career and knew he wanted to be a comic actor from a young age as he was always the class clown in school.
Reminiscing about when he first realised he was funny, Owen said: "It was when I had to stand up in front of the class. I wouldn't be prepared, so I'd start tap dancing and the kids would start to laugh. Sometimes I'd even get the teachers laughing a little bit.
"I was slightly mischievous. I got into as lot of trouble at school. Actually, both my brothers had similar trouble in school. We were a handful."
Owen - who is thought to have split with Robert's mother, Jade Duell - says he is trying to instil a competitive spirit into his young son by teaching him some of his favourite board games.
He explained: "[My] competitiveness could come from growing up as one of three boys. I love backgammon, dominoes and any type of game. I'm getting my two year old into games, and I am looking forward to doing more with him."
