Patsy Kensit has tied the knot to four different men, but claims her three year marriage to Liam – who fathered her 14-year-old son Lennon - in addition to her relationship with Simple Minds front man Jim Kerr – with whom she had 20-year-old son James – are the only “defining” marriages in her life.
She further expands saying, “With the utmost respect to my first and my fourth husbands, I don’t consider either of those relationships to be proper marriages. My marriages to the fathers of my two sons are the only ones that count and they’ve been the defining relationships in my life.”
Patsy believes the failure of her marriages to Liam and Jim was a result of the void left by her mother Margret, who died of breast cancer.
The 45-year-old beauty mused: “If I really analyse it now then maybe my part in why those two marriages to Jim and then to Liam went so wrong is because I was always looking for someone to replace my mother, to love me in the unconditional way that she did, but that is not a realistic expectation – and from that point I messed up.”
Patsy also had a short lived marriage to Dan Donovan whom she split with in 1991 after three years of marriage before tying the knot to her ex-husband DJ Jeremy Healy who she divorced three years ago.
