The 48-year-old singer - who has Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, with first wife Katie Price and Amelia, seven, and Theo, four, with spouse Emily - and his wife had been discussing the prospect of having another child but he admitted spending so much time in close quarters with all their brood due to coronavirus had put them off the idea.

Explaining how the "chaos" had been a passion-killer, he quipped: “Homeschooling is the new garlic!”

He then added to The Sun newspaper: "If you could see the madness in this house the last thing you’d want to think about is having more children.

“We spoke about it during the first lockdown. We thought, ‘Ah, this is great, we’re all together’.

“But by the third lockdown we were like, ‘Right, OK, maybe this is a really crazy idea’.”

The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker admitted his older children found the most recent lockdown in particular tough.

He said: “By the third lockdown things became different. The days were short, it was dark, everyone was stuck indoors.

“The kids were really struggling with being on the computer all day.

“They were stuck in front of the computers all day, which is something we try to encourage them not to do in any other time of their lives.”

In January, Peter contracted coronavirus and though he has now "fully recovered" from his physical symptoms, he admitted it's had a psychological affect on him.

He said: “Even Emily didn’t think I had it at first because I didn’t have the fever. I had a bit of a cough but what was really hitting me was the body aches. I can’t remember feeling body aches like that since I had meningitis.

“I’m fully recovered now but it was interesting what it did to me psychologically. Because of all the stories we were reading and hearing, it kept me thinking, ‘Is this because of the virus? I’m feeling dizzy today, is that Covid?’

“I actually got a text from someone warning against going running after suffering with Covid because her friend had gone for a run three days after she recovered and died.

“Every time I’d went on the running machine I would be thinking, ‘Am I going to drop dead?’

“It affected my fitness to the point where a month later I couldn’t train for five minutes without getting puffed out.”
