The 29-year-old actress - who shot to fame on 'The Cosby Show' when she was just three years old - is "so happy" to have landed a permanent spot on the American talk show after guest co-hosting the ABC series since March.

The former Disney star's co-host Whoopi Goldberg confirmed the news on the show today (10.06.15), saying: "We are happy to announce Raven-Symoné is now permanently part of 'The View'.

After a confetti cannon blasted the audience, the 'That's So Raven' actress walked out to the song 'Celebrate' and said: "I am so happy. I remember coming on 'The View' when I was 15 years old for the first Cheetah Girls. I'm very happy to be sitting with these smart, talented mentors."

She then presented her co-hosts, including Nicolle Wallace, Rosie Perez and guest co-host Iliza Shlesinger, with gifts such as chocolate, watermelon, potato chips, cake and bacon.

She added: "You guys, let's have some fun."

The show's creator, executive producer and original co-host Barbara Walters also voiced her support for Raven.

In a statement, the veteran broadcaster said: "Raven-Symoné is a welcome addition to 'The View'. She is happy, amusing and well informed, and has already brought a unique perspective to the program that has resonated with our audience."
