Robin Thicke's son is his good luck charm.

Thicke who topped the charts in both the US and the UK with 'Blurred Lines' says his son is the best thing that has ever happened to him.

The 36-year-old hitmaker, who married his high school sweetheart, Paula Patton, in 2005 says "He's obviously the best thing that's ever happened to me. He's my good luck charm.

Thicke adds: "He's three and wants to be a rock star! He's always talking about hooking up with the band. He tells me he's going to New York and 'They're going to pay me, Daddy!' It's cute and adorable."

Robin claims his son is already more talented on the dance floor than him.

He said: "He can get down. I groove. I wouldn't insult dancers by saying I'm dancing. I call myself a groove man."

'2 Guns' actress Paula, 37, previously revealed that their son has no interest in following in her footsteps by carving out a career in Hollywood.

She recently said: "He's an extrovert and he wants to be just like daddy. He sings and makes up his own songs. He's got a song called 'Pop Song'. It's all choruses. He certainly got the gift from daddy."

The couple have their hands full with Julian and Robin insisted that they aren't ready for more children just yet.

He said: "We're not planning to have more kids any time soon. It's hard enough to balance things the way they are. I don't want to throw another child into the mix right now."
