The 'House Bunny' actress - who won the last series of 'Dancing With the Stars' alongside professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy - is to portray murderous Roxie Hart at New York City's Ambassador Theater for a limited eight-week run.

The 26-year-old star will make her debut in the production - in which she takes over from Brandy Norwood - on August 18, with her stint wrapping on October 11.

The 'Sorority Row' star has previously appeared in the off-Broadway production 'Love, Loss, And What I Wore'.

Less than two weeks after she leaves Broadway, Rumer's father Bruce Willis will make his own debut in the prestigious theatre district in a production of 'Misery'.

The 'Die Hard' actor portrays housebound romance novelist Paul Sheldon opposite Laurie Metcalf as his unhinged obsessive fan in the stage adaptation of Stephen King's thriller, which begins previews on October 22.

The announcement of Rumer's new role comes a few weeks after she was forced to quit the 'Dancing With the Stars' live tour after fracturing her foot.

She announced the news on Instagram by writing alongside a black and white photo of her foot sporting a supportive brace: "I have to hang up my dancing shoes for a little bit because of a few stress fractures in my foot but it's not gonna stop me from singing for you guys on the #DWTSlivetour.
