The 'Deadpool' star has recalled how his two-year-old daughter James thought he was "trapped inside a marshmallow" when he donned his outfit for science fiction flick 'Life'.

He said: "James saw me in the spacesuit. We did a fitting in the little apartment we were renting in London and it terrified her. She had no idea why Daddy was trapped inside a marshmallow."

Before quipping: "Yeah, I actually sewed together 700 marshmallows. I'll do anything to get a rise out of her."

However, Ryan - who also has five-month-old Ines with his wife Blake Lively - admits it was difficult to appear "weightless" when he was wearing the space suit as it weighed 50 or so pounds.

He told USA Today: "I wore the big EVA [extravehicular activity] space-walk suit, which was a good 50, 60 pounds, and then you have to pretend that you're weightless. That was an athletic exercise unto itself, but cool. You have a moment of that wish-fulfillment, 'I'm a kid again, holy [expletive], I'm wearing a NASA-sanctioned astronaut suit.' It was great."

It comes after Ryan admitted his daughter James was also scared by the scar make up he wore for 'Deadpool'.

He confessed: "[Blake] was blown away by how much the suit was such a faithful adaption from comic book to screen ... probably the most faithful adaptation that's ever been done.

"And my daughter would cry when she saw me in the scar makeup. It was hard. She would hear my voice, but she'd see this guy that looks like a fried testicle. That's tough for a kid."
