The 36-year-old tennis star welcomed her daughter Alexis Olympia - whom she has with her husband Alexis Ohanian - into the world seven months ago, and has revealed the tot already has her eyes fixated on the television screen whenever they sit down to watch the sport together.

She said: "She watches tennis like a hawk. She never takes her eyes off tennis when it's on. It's weird and that makes me a little nervous."

Serena added that whilst her daughter is too young to be visiting her on the tennis courts when she trains, she is sure the tot will be joining her one she's older.

She added: "I definitely look forward to her coming."

And the sporting superstar also revealed that following her childbirth complications - which included several blood clots and the need for an emergency cesarean-section - she is finding it "easier" as a first time mother.

Speaking to People magazine, Serena said: "I realise it's only the first few days that are incredibly hard. It's definitely gotten easier [being a new mom] and I love her."

Olympia's love for tennis comes after Serena recently said she had worries about her career when she first discovered she was pregnant.

In a trailer for her upcoming HBO documentary series 'Being Serena' - which she shared on her Instagram account - the star can be heard saying: "When I realised that I was pregnant, I was like, 'Oh my God. How am I going to play?'"

But she hasn't given up yet, as she added: "I don't know if there's anything left for me in tennis. But I'm not done yet."

Serena also admitted that her first six months of motherhood have been "amazing", as she says that being a parent comes "naturally" to her.

She added: "It's been amazing. I've always wanted to be a mom but I never seemed to have time with my career. Then, it just happened, and I was like, 'I don't know.' I just dove right in.

"It's so natural for me. I love it. I love her so much. We have a great little family going on."
