The 63-year-old star has spoken out in support of her friend - who has denied allegations made by his former security guard Jeffrey Wenninger - insisting the alleged victim is not the 'Rocket Man' hitmaker's "type".

Speaking on 'The Talk', she said: "I have met this person on several occasions, I don't know him, but I have met him.

"What do I know? But he used to stare a lot...a bit of a nut job I suppose. But listen that is just my opinion.

"And I must say really? You are not his type dear...have you looked in the mirror. He can get much better than you?"

Wenninger is suing the pop legend for sexual harassment and battery over three alleged incidents that he says occurred when he was working for the 'Crocodile Rock' hitmaker in 2014.

But Elton insists his former employee - who stopped working for the star in September 2014 - is trying to get money out of him.

Orin Snyder, a US attorney for the music legend's Rocket Entertainment Group, said in a statement: "This baseless lawsuit is brought by a disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment.

"These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff. We will not give into his latest abuse of the legal system."

According to reports, the security guard claimed Elton touched him inappropriately on his private parts and buttocks while the pair were in a car together, and alleged the star once told him to "get your todger out" and "say hello to Uncle Elton".

Jeffrey also claims in the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles, California, that in a separate incident the 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' singer once twisted his nipples while saying "you gorgeous thing, you".
