The New York businessman was outraged to discover his spouse Lauren Silverman is expecting a child with the 53-year-old music mogul, but friends believe he was aware of "warning signs" earlier in the scandalous fling, which may have began as early as 2009.
A friend close to the estranged couple - who have a seven-year-old son, Adam, together - told website TMZ Andrew would listen as Lauren spent hours "flirting" on the phone to 'The X Factor' boss, but he failed to believe they would actually sleep together.
The casino owner previously released a statement claiming all he cares about in the drama is his son and "protecting" him from the scandal, but sources close to Lauren believe Andrew - who filed for divorce three weeks ago - is kicking up a big fuss as he wants to spend longer in the spotlight.
Meanwhile, Simon has reportedly offered his lover - believed to be 11 weeks pregnant - her own plush pad on the Trousdale estate in Beverly Hills, California, once her marriage has been legally dissolved.
A property source said: "Simon has amassed a lot of houses with his fortune and will want to provide for his child.
"He has instructed his advisers to let Lauren have the house, which means she can be nearby but crucially not too close so he can get on with his work and usual lifestyle."
