The 'Legend' star, who has been sober for over a decade, is planning to turn the outhouse of his London pad into a "socialising space" for his close friends to hang out.

A source said: "Tom is converting an outhouse into a 'socialising space' in his garden, but it's pretty much going to be a private pub for his mates to hang out in."

The insider added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's going to be kitted out like an old fashioned boozer/gentlemen's club. He likes the idea of entertaining all his mates at home, with the atmosphere of a night out."

However, the 37-year-old actor's idea of building a boozer right on his door step may set alarm bells ringing for his nearest and dearest as he admitted earlier this year he's lucky to be alive after a serious drug and alcohol addiction.

He said previously: "If I had four pints and half a bottle of vodka I could turn this room into an absolute f***ing nightmare in about three minutes."

The 'Mad Max' hunk - who also battled with a debilitating cocaine addiction until his late '20s - checked into rehab in 2003 to conquer his demons and has been sober ever since.

Meanwhile, Tom is now expecting a baby with his wife Charlotte Riley, whom he married in July 2013, and is looking forward to meeting his new bundle of joy.

He also has son Louis, seven, with his ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed.
