The former Wanted singer – who is battling an incurable brain tumour – and his spouse Kelsey welcomed a sibling for 15-month-old Aurelia into the world last week, his bandmate Max George has revealed.

Max was asked how his friend is doing during an appearance on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (27.10.20) and let the news slip.

He said: “I spoke to him yesterday and he’s doing good, he’s doing great. Kelsey gave birth to their second child last week. He’s a fighter, Tom’ll be alright. If you’re watching by the way, mwah, I love you all.”

Tom and Kelsey announced his devastating diagnosis earlier this month and vowed to "fight this all the way" by raising awareness and researching the treatments available.

They wrote: "Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why. There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment. We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.

"We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options. It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey xxx. (sic)"

Tom also admitted that he is still yet to "process" the earth-shattering diagnosis.

The 'Chasing the Sun' hitmaker recalled: "They pulled the curtain around my bed and said, 'It's a brain tumour.' All I could think was, 'F****** hell!' I was in shock. It's stage four glioblastoma and they've said its terminal. It was a lot to deal with by myself. Kelsey couldn't come in because of Covid. I still haven't processed it."
