The 53-year-old TV host had planned to take to the air on the annual day of romance, but she has instead been forced to stay at home while a repeat episode of her daytime talk show is broadcast.

A spokesperson for 'The Wendy Williams Show' explained: "In this flu season, Wendy is experiencing some flu-like symptoms. Wendy will air a repeat."

Wendy raised fears about her health on Halloween last year, when she fainted during her live show.

The outspoken star dressed up as the Statue of Liberty for the occasion, but she suffered the dramatic health scare as she attempted to introduce the contestants for her Halloween costume contest.

Explaining what happened, Wendy subsequently said: "That was not a stunt. I'm overheated in my costume and I did pass out.

"The crew and security here thought that the bug-eyed look I gave was part of a stunt because I'm always doing tricks. This is the trick show. We're always doing tricks and stunts. It was Halloween.

"They thought it was a part of something so nobody came out until I hit the ground. Then, oh, my gosh, chaos ensued. The studio audience went wild."

Wendy fainted because she was dehydrated - but she insisted there aren't any long-term health concerns for her fans to worry about.

The TV presenter - who has been hosting 'The Wendy Williams Show' since 2008 - said: "You know, I'm a woman of a particular age. I'm also going through menopause.

"I didn't think my costume was hot when I first tried it on. It was a catsuit. Apparently, I was dehydrated, according to the paramedics ... I went to my own doctors and I'm fine, including blood work."
