Zayn Malik is happier than ever since getting engaged to Perrie Edwards.
The One Direction singer proposed to Perrie, 20, last weekend and took to Twitter to praise his fiancee and thank fans for their well wishes.
He wrote: "Never been more happy in my life ! Thank you to everyone that has been so lovely about my engagement to my beautiful fiancé ! Big love z X (sic)."
While Zayn, 20, is over the moon about his new relationship status, he insisted they are currently just enjoying being engaged without worrying about planning the nuptials.
Speaking to 'Today' hosts Samathan Guthrie and Matt Lauer, he said: "No plans yet! There's not much to say ... we are engaged, really happy."
The Little Mix singer first sparked speculation she was secretly engaged when she was spotted with a diamond sparkler on her ring finger at her boyfriend's 'One Direction: This Is Us' film premiere in London's Leicester Square earlier this week and her mother Debbie confirmed the news.
She said: "It's official. I'm over the moon. They are really in love."
Debbie explained Perrie didn't want to overshadow One Direction's big night during the premiere by making an official announcement.
She said: "It's wonderful because Zayn is absolutely gorgeous. It's true they got engaged and it's absolutely lovely.
"Perrie loves him to pieces and it's perfect. They get on so well together and understand each other. It's just fabulous."
The couple first got together in December 2011 after meeting on the set of 'The X Factor' when former contestants One Direction paid a visit to the new crop of singers.
