A unicorn is a mythical creature- a white horse with a horn on its forehead- the stuff of fairy tales and children’s stories... but what does it mean to dream about one?

If you dreamed about a unicorn, it’s possible you need to use your imagination more. Perhaps you have a gift for creating new worlds or inventing entertaining tales and you have left this untapped or some time. Do you need to embrace this side of yourself more either for your own benefit or the benefit of others? A child perhaps?

On the flipside, it could mean that you live in a fantasy world, you need to come back down to earth and be more realistic. You are striving for things that aren’t achievable or don’t exist.

Given its colour- a union could reflect an innocence or purity in you. Is this working for or against you? Perhaps you need to get out and see more of the world or maybe this helps you to see the good in people and situations. Does some part of you need to be tamed?

Are you happy with your life or do you feel it needs a little more magic? Perhaps the people in your life, the things you fill your time with or the places you frequent no longer fill you will joy and you need to seek someone or something else that will.

Unicorns are often depicted as having calmness and control, so the dream could be telling you to try and apply these traits in your own life if things have escaped you lately. Or it’s possible you already embody these characteristics and perhaps you have taken them too far.

Finally, a unicorn is often linked to lofty ideals. Are you setting your expectations too high? Do you need to bring them down to a more manageable level?

If the horse you were riding was out of control then you may be getting carried away with something in your waking life and you need to rein it in before it’s impossible to fix.
