Every year new high school movies come along - all aimed at the tween market - and Prom is no different.

At "Prom", every couple has a story and no two are exactly alike. Several intersecting stories unfold at one high school as the big dance approaches; "Prom" portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite.

For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it's a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom.

Fellow seniors Mei (Yin Chang) and Tyler (De'Vaughn Nixon) harbour secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school's most seminal events.

This latest offering from Disney follows in the footsteps of High School Musical and Glee, without ever actually breaking into song, and is aimed perfectly at the teen market.

Ok so the film isn't original in any way shape or form but it is great fun that shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Sure it would have been nice to see a little more originality and wit in the script but it is good clean fun - suitable for all the family; which is rare when it comes to teen films.

The relationships between the characters are interesting, if a little predictable, but they never really set the screen on fire.

We have seen high school good girl fall for the bad boy, who is just misunderstood, but Teegarden and McDonell banter well together and have a very believable chemistry.

This is a good hearted movie with a great spirit and it is perfect for the target audience. Ok so it lacks that spark of originality but it does have a certain charm about it.
