Behind the bright lights of the big city, Detective Mac Taylor and his team are back to face the more sinister side of the Big Apple, as the third edition of the world’s most popular television franchise CSI: New York Season Eight comes to DVD on June 24.

Nominated for five Primetime Emmy awards, everyone’s favourite crime drama returns. This time, the team face shocking homicides - from assassinations to serial killers and rapists to botched-robberies. As Mac knows all too well, solving some of the most complicated criminal cases is never simple, but at least they can count on one thing, the evidence.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lone Ranger), this season brings Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) back in charge, leading his talented investigators through the concrete jungle to solve the crimes in the Big City.

Sela Ward (Jo Danville) returns to Mac’s side as Assistant Supervisor and confidant, while Anna Belknap (Lindsay Messer) and Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer) also reprise their roles as this season the couple must learn to deal with their relationship and careers as the both collide.

The team wouldn’t be complete without the return of Eddie Cahill in his role as Det. Don Flack, and Hill Harper returns as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes. With emotions at their highest this season, the team are going to have to be at the top of their game.

New York season eight opens with a flashback to the tragic events of September 11 2001, where Mac lost his wife. Meanwhile things are changing for Danny and Lindsay in the wake of Danny’s promotion.

After passing the Sergeants exam at the finale of season seven Danny must adapt to a life on the street while his girlfriend continues to work cases from the lab. The specialist forensic investigators must overcome the deceit and bring the murderers to justice.
