Actress-turned-activist Mia Farrow has offered to swap places with a respected Darfur rebel in the Sudan, so he can receive much-needed medical treatment. Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) Humanitarian Coordinator Suleiman Jamous was moved without permission to a United Nations hospital in Kordofan 13 months ago. Jamous is in need of a stomach biopsy, but the operation cannot be performed at the site. Farrow, who is a goodwill ambassador for children's agency UNICEF has pleaded with Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir to exchange her freedom for his medical treatment. In a letter to al-Bashir, she writes, "Before his seizure, Mr. Jamous played a crucial role in bringing the SLA to the negotiating table and in seeking reconciliation between its divided rival factions. "I am therefore offering to take Mr. Jamous's place, to exchange my freedom for his in the knowledge of his importance to the civilians of Darfur and in the conviction that he will apply his energies toward creating the just and lasting peace that the Sudanese people deserve and hope for."Farrow has fourteen children and is the original celebrity adopter. Of her fourteen children only four are biological. She adopted ten children from India, South Korea and Vietnam. She is estranged from her daughter Soon-Yi after she had an affair with Woody Allen, Farrow's husband, who she married went on to marry in 1997.
