Nigel Lythgoe is set to be honoured by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The British reality show mogul, who also serves as co-creator of TV hit So You Think You Can Dance, will receive the 2011 Founders Award in recognition of his career achievements.
He says, "This is a true honour. The world of television is becoming increasingly more global, and I am grateful that the International Academy is recognising the growing importance of performing arts and dance on television throughout the world."
Lythgoe will collect the award at the 39th annual International Emmys in New York on 21 November (11).
