Politician ignoring Tom Petty's demand to stop using his hit for campaign
Michele Bachmann is ignoring rocker Tom Petty's letter to stop her from using his American Girl hit as her rally anthem.
The Republican presidential candidate was issued a cease and desist letter earlier in the week by the singer's management, after the congresswoman played the track at a rally in Iowa, where she officially announced her plans to run against President Barack Obama in 2012.
It appears Bachmann is defying the demand as American Girl was played at a stop in South Carolina on Tuesday - but just 30 seconds of the song was played.
The music was then mixed into Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves.
