The 'Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' star has admitted her and her daughter Finty Williams constantly find themselves not behaving in "grown up" ways when they attend events together.

Speaking about an award show she attended with the 42-year-old actress, Judi said: "We're always, 'Oh, look at that!' 'Over there!' We don't behave in grown up ways at all.

"Antonio Banderas came up to ask Finty for a light - well, I thought she was going to disappear into the ground! Shaking, shaking!"

The 80-year-old actress also opened up about her vision loss - which is caused by macular degeneration - and admitted she finds painting very therapeutic.

She shared: "I paint a lot and now I find it very, very difficult because if I look at something and then look back here, my eyes don't adjust quickly enough to actually transfer that.

"Then I thought, 'That's what's painting is about. You should paint what you see.' And therefore it doesn't matter - don't translate it literally, translate it in the only way you can. It's a different system."

Judi also joked her poor eyesight has lead her to get in trouble with a few other actors who think she has a bigger part during read-throughs but it's only because she requires the typeface to be bigger.

She quipped to PEOPLE magazine: "So, if six of us were coming in to read a sonnet they'd all have one piece of paper and I'd have two or three.

"They'd think, 'Why does she have a bigger part?' when it's all the same!"
