What does it take for Harry Styles fans to go into overdrive? The performer dressing up as Disney princess Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, apparently.
Overnight, images from a photoshoot in which Styles looked to be having more fun than ever were released, showcasing the tattooed star in an outfit that truly has to be seen to be believed.
Some noted that there were once rumours Styles would take on the role of Prince Eric in the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid movie. His fanbase at the time would even joke that he would instead be taking on the titular role in that very flick.
Now, it looks like they’ve gotten their wish… sort of.
What followed was Styles’ biggest fans having a little fun with the pictures, mocking up their own movie posters and casting his fellow One Direction member Louis Tomlinson opposite him.
Styles has got to be celebrated for simply not giving a s*** about what people think about him.
He blends both masculine and feminine styles to blur the lines of what can and cannot be worn by a man and accepted by society, teaching his primarily-young audience that it is okay to express yourself by wearing whatever you like in doing so.
We can’t wait to see which direction he takes his fun fashion in next! A collaboration with Lady Gaga, perhaps?
Meanwhile, showrunner Shonda Rhimes addressed the news that Regé-Jean Page would be leaving Bridgerton following his breakout role in the first season of the Netflix original series.
The reason? Quite simple. It was all to do with the structure of the original novels on which the show is based.
Page himself had already spoken about the news, saying that the beginning-and-end nature of his role was part of the reason he had signed up in the first place.
Rhimes did admit that she didn’t expect such an “explosion” of a reaction when the news was broke.
“Every book [in the series] is a different romance,” she explained. “We gave them [Page’s character] their happily ever after!”
Will it be enough to quench the thirst of rabid fans? We’ll have to wait and see. Bring on the casting news for Season 2!
