In a survey, only a shocking 4 percent make the effort to vary their lunch choice from day to day, and around a third of respondents admitted to switching between three options.

We also have major jealousy issues - six out of ten people said they regularly get 'food envy' when their colleagues are having something better than them.

However, we do know that a good lunch can make a difference - nearly a third of people said that a satisfying lunch made them more productive, and 40 percent said it made them feel happier.

Jamie has teamed up with Boots to create his first deli-inspired range of sandwiches, called ‘Jamie Does Lunch’. The lunch range will be available at 100 Boots stores across the nation, in prime commuter spots.

Jamie said: “Lunch isn’t just about refuelling after a busy morning – it should be something to look forward to and enjoy. I wanted to make lunchtimes really exciting, so my range takes inspiration from all over the world, with everything from British classics to Moroccan flatbreads.

"We’ve only used the very best ingredients to make sure everything is bursting with flavour and, because it’s at Boots, one of our tasty, nutritious options is never too far away.”

The top-quality sandwich range will consist of 21 options, from sandwiches and salads, to wraps and dips. Flavours include Empire chicken salad, Bombay potatoes and Indian carrot salad.

Alex Gourlay, Chief Executive, Health & Beauty Division, Alliance Boots, said: “The introduction of the new ‘Jamie Does Lunch’ range is another positive step in the expansion of our healthy, convenient food offering and we are pleased that this will help us in our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers.”
