Ocado team up with Great British Chefs for new recipe app

Online supermarket Ocado have joined forces with the award-winning recipes website Great British Chefs to create their new Summertime App.

The app is like a virtual cook book, with over 100 great things to make, and each recipe's ingredients are linked through to the Ocado website, so if you're out of anything, you can buy it straight away.

Recipes have been created by 21 talented British chefs, including TV chef Marcus Wareing and Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens.

To help users cook the meals, there are also 25 instructional videos, with tips on making mayonnaise to preparing artichokes. Budding chefs can search the app by ingredient or level of difficulty, so no need to worry that a recipe will be beyond your capabilities.

If that wasn't enough, proceeds of the app are also going towards Action Against Hunger, a global charity committed to ending world hunger while saving lives of malnourished children.

Ocado founder Jason Gissing commented “joining forces with Great British Chefs to create the Summertime app is hugely exciting for Ocado. For the first time you can create your own award winning menu and buy the ingredients from Ocado with a simple click.

"This unique function makes it easy for people to create a fine dining experience in their own home and have fun experimenting with Ocado’s super fresh and delicious summer ingredients.”
