Mous commissioned a brand new study to celebrate the launch of their new Mous Musicase, which found that problems with technology make up half of all top daily annoyances across the UK.

We're firmly planted in the digital age, and the research found through polling 2,000 people across the nation that Brits spend an average of 21 and a half minutes looking for lost headphones, with 55% so impatient that we won't spend more than five minutes before giving up looking and getting a new pair.

A huge 46% of irritations are down to fails when it comes to technology, and the company are now hoping that they can ease some of the annoyances caused with their new phone case.

Co-founder of Mous, James Griffith comments: "We have a love affair with technology which has been designed to make our lives easier - from mobile phones to self check-out machines. But it seems like things are going wrong and the nation is in a bit of a tech tangle, getting annoyed on a daily basis when tech doesn't work as we expect it to, or when it is just downright annoying.

"While we can't do anything about shoddy phone signal, there is something we can do about tangled wires and lost headphones. That's where we came up with the idea for the Mous Musicase - giving people a fashionable phone case which not only looks great, but ensures your headphones are always on you, so even if the network goes down, you'll always be entertained!"

The top tech traumas as found by the data are as follows:

  • No phone signal - 48.3%
  • When I run out of battery and don't have my phone charger - 40.1%
  • When I can't get onto the wifi, or when there's no wifi - 37.9%
  • When at a self-checkout and there is an 'unexpected item in bagging area' - 36.7%
  • When wires get tangled up, e.g. headphones, phone charger etc - 19.8%
  • When batteries in a remote control run out and I want to change channel (but don't want to move) - 13.2%
  • When I misplace or lose my headphones - 13%
