Yoville

Yoville

Lauren Omond from TeePee Games brings us her roundup of all things games - new discoveries, gossip and more!

Yoville

For those who haven’t heard of Yoville, it was one of Zynga’s first successful -ville games on Facebook.

Yoville is a free virtual world game that allows players to create personal avatars, customise their homes and live out another life online. You can chat, play games, attend live events and interact with your friends by leaving messages and sending them gifts.

As well as being able to go to public places like nightclubs, diners, shops and the beach, you can visit your Facebook friends’ homes, even when they’re offline, perfect for the nosey side of you.

There’s plenty to do in Yoville, whether it’s going into town to buy new outfits, gambling at the casino, racing motorcycles on the speedway or buying furniture from the YoDepot.

Just like in real life everything costs you money - or coins as it’s called in Yoville - which is a bummer, but these can be won or earned by doing simple things like visiting friends and playing games. For those who don’t want to spend time earning the coins they have the option to buy YoCash with real money, which can then be spent on coins or exclusive items.

The game is really well developed, has nice graphics and is easy to navigate, which makes it a real joy to play. If you like Zynga’s newer games like Cityville and Farmville you’ll definitely want to give YoVille a try.

Lauren’s verdict:  Yoville is pretty cool, there is a lot to do and explore so this makes it great for everyone!  It is similar to The Sims but a bit easier to play and navigate.  Try not to spend all your money in the casino like I did!

Bingo Island

My name is Lauren and I am a massive Bingo fan.  It’s sad to say but gone are the days of sitting in a smoky hall full of, sometimes batty, old ladies (yep, that’s me too), Bingo has become virtually cool and taken the internet by storm - in the UK alone online bingo attracts more than 3 million players.

It’s not just bingo operators like Mecca and Gala that have set up online bingo, many of the big brands have been creating their own versions of the game for their websites.

Bingo Island is really easy to play and works in exactly the same way as the real game - buy cards, watch out for your numbers, mark them off and shout bingo if you get the pattern.

For those new to the game there’s a short demo which shows you exactly how to play in a few simple steps.  There’s also the choice of a fast or slow game setting if you want to test your online bingo skills before going all out with 5 cards on a fast setting (believe me, it is not easy!)

Bingo cards are paid for with in-game credits, which can either be bought with real money or earned in-game through achievements, winning a game and promotions. When I was playing I didn’t have to spend any real money as the number of credits is just enough.

There’s nothing particularly great about the graphics, oh how I wished for a dabber icon, but they do the job and to be honest it is only bingo so you don’t really need anything too fancy.

Overall, Bingo Island is fun to play, you can choose to have banter with fellow players and you get the thrill of the real game without risking any money, you really can’t help but get sweaty palms when waiting for that one last number!

Lauren’s Verdict: If you’re not a fan of bingo then there probably isn’t much to draw you in to the game but I definitely think it’s worth a try, you’ve got nothing to lose and once I started I couldn’t stop!  It also helps if you have someone bring you cups of tea (or a glass of wine) while you play to really get into the bingo spirit!
