From Tuesday (13.06.17), the free story demo will be available to download on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems and will give gamers a taster of the highly anticipated story mode - the first of its kind in the franchise's history.

The game allows players to be at the centre of a battle as heroes from both universes come together to stop the villain Ultron Sigma - the combined form of the robotic villains Ultron and Sigma.

Players will have to seek aid from the mad titan Thanos - who will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming 'Avengers: Infinity War' - but whether they can trust him or not will be explored in the game.

More Marvel and Capcom characters have joined forces to fight against Ultron including Nova, Doctor Strange and Gamora, who will feature unique abilities and special moves, as they join 14 other previously announced characters.

The game will take place in familiar settings with famous locations from the Marvel universe and Capcom merge together as part of Ultron's plan including "Xgard" - a mixture of Thor's homeland Asgard and Abel City from Capcom's 'Mega Man X' series.

Created by the two companies, the game will feature free-form 2 vs 2 team battles integrated into a variety of single player modes and also multiplayer content.

The cinematic experience will allow players to take on Arcade, Training and Mission modes plus other multiplayer offerings for players to increase skill levels.

'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' will also explore the powers of the Infinity Stones which players can equip and use during battles including Reality, Time, Power and Space abilities.

The game is slated for a September 2017 release across all platforms.
