The recently-retired 40-year-old star has previously snubbed opportunities to appear in various video game titles, but has made an exception to feature in 'Wild Poker', a new mobile poker game.

Floyd - who is a well known gambling enthusiast and lives in the city of Las Vegas - explained in a statement: "As soon as I saw 'Wild Poker', I knew I wanted to become part of it.

"I'm constantly asked to put my name on stuff, but 'Wild Poker' is different than any game I've ever seen. It's poker, but it goes to the next level. There's a whole new level of strategy with the power-ups."

Floyd claimed he decided to have put his name to the game after he was convinced of its credentials and that it was as life-like as the developers had suggested.

The former sports star - who has reportedly earned a large fee for putting his name to the title - said: "It's a cutting-edge game, this is that next thing, and like everything I put my name on, 'Wild Poker' is the best ever."
