Sony has confirmed the PlayStation 5 won't record user's voice chats.

The recent PS4 update - version 8.0.0 - introduces new functionality for voice chats which will go live once the next gen console is released, with pop-ups alerting players that the conversations "may be recorded", which sparked some concern.
However, the Ask PlayStation UK account clarified on Twitter: "The notification advises you that other users may be recording your voice conversation.
"We do [not] record party chats."
Sony has issued a full statement to further explain the feature, which will allow people to record chats and submit them for moderation.
The update will also be available on PS5, but the notification will alert PS4 players when they are chatting to a next gen user.
The company said: "Following this update, users are seeing a notification about Party Safety and that voice chats in parties may be recorded.
"Voice chat recording for moderation is a feature that will be available on PS5 when it launches, and will enable users to record their voice chats on PS5 and submit them for moderation review.
"The pop up you’re seeing on PS4 right now is to let you know that when you participate in a chat with a PS5 user (post-launch), they may submit those recordings from their PS5 console to SIE."
