Award winning North Wales based Dibley’s Nursery, have won their 18th RHS Gold Medal to add to their extensive collection! Lynne Dibley said “This will be our 19th Chelsea Flower Show and in that time we have won a lot of medals, but it is still such an achievement to win an award when you are amongst such talented horticulturalists. It is also wonderful when the hard work pays off like this!”.

This year’s kidney shaped stand features 15-20 varieties of Streptocarpus in a colour palete of deep purples, pinks through to blues, whites and yellows. The planting is naturalistic with Streptocarpus mixed up with Begonias. 20-25 varieties of Begonia, including the brilliant foliaged Rex varieties are shown in a mixture of combinations. Foliage colours range from greens, reds, silvers and pinks. Flowering varieties offer colours from pink to red.

Streptocarpus ‘Seren’, a totally new colour break in Streptocarpus breeding and has taken many years to achieve, made its debut in this year’s display and it certainly did its job in wowing the judges!
