Katherine Heigl has the Hollywood glamour look down to a tee

This season, it’s all about Hollywood glamour. Heidi Klum, Katherine Heigl and Marcia Cross, to name but a few, have been gracing the red carpet with perfectly coiffed hair and classic make-up. So ditch the barely-there make-up and bed head hair, and join the glitterati - well, in looks anyway!

Forget straightened-to-death frazzled hair, this look is glossy, shiny and full of life. Think Marilyn Monroe’s fabulous waves. Make sure you're not sporting any split ends, hair needs to be in great condition.

Try slathering your hair with conditioner and leaving it in overnight so that it’s gleaming and soft. Then use tongs on large sections of your hair when it’s dry to create big curls, spritz with hairspray and brush through gently to soften the look. Finish with a little serum to smooth any frizzies down, and there you have it, fabulous hair any Beverly Hills starlet would be jealous of!

Now, for your Hollywood make-up. Perfectly groomed eyebrows, flawless skin and matte red lips are a timeless look which will never go out of fashion. Have your brows waxed or threaded by an expert. They will follow the line of your natural brow, and create a shape that you can maintain by plucking afterwards. Don't make the mistake of going for the skinny, penciled-on look though - big brows have made a comeback as of late!

Using an eyebrow pencil a shade darker than their natural colour will enhance them and really bring out your other features.

Use a good foundation to smooth out your skin but make sure it’s a good colour match, orange tidemarks are not a good look for any Hollywood glamour puss! Then apply pressed powder to stop any shine or greasiness. Now all you need are your classic red lips. Use a lipstick, not a gloss. To stop it fading, try a lipstick sealer, which will also prevent any nasty red stains on your glass or somebody’s cheek!

Hollywood glamour isn't just for the A-listers: you never know, you might even bag your very own Brad Pitt-a-like.
