Amber Heard wearing Roland Mouret

Amber Heard hasn't put a fashion or beauty foot wrong on the red carpet in the last six months.

She creates looks that are lustworthy and thankfully easy to re-create.

Last Sunday she attended the SAG Awards in LA, wearing a black Roland Mouret gown and paired it with a simple up-do, with lots of height.

Ken Picton, Wales and South West Hairdresser of the year, explains how we can attempt this look.

"To create this super easy hair up, the most important thing is your preparation. Shampoo your hair with a lightweight shampoo and a little conditioner. I love Shu Uemura’s new cleansing oil shampoo (to buy see www.kenpictonboutique.com).

Blow dry the hair with maximum root lift away from the face, using a product like L’Oreal Techni-Art Volume Lift, which is an aerosol based mousse that’s great for getting body and movement straight into the roots.

Take a section of the hair into a horseshoe shape, from the temples to just below the crown. Using a soft bristle brush, brush the bottom section into a ponytail, twist, and secure just above the crown. Backcomb the top section of the hair. Do this with a texturing powder, such as L’Oreal Techni-Art Superdust, to give maximum hold and volume, whilst still keeping a soft natural look to your style.

Lightly pull your top section back and secure just below the ends of your ponytail (so that the top of the ponytail is hidden). Finish by brushing over your top section with a blusher brush to get that soft "mohair" look to your style. Spritz with a light hold hairspray for a stylish look that’s bang on trend!"
