Get the most natural hair colour at home with these tips

TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh went back to her natural colour this week, and it looks so much better than the highly-dyed do she was sporting before.

Debuting a glossy brunette bob, Lucy was every inch the small screen siren. Her dark brown locks complemented her tanned skin and classic smoky-eye perfectly.

Ever the trend setter, Lucy’s return to her roots took on a new hue, accentuating her natural colour by going a couple of shades darker than her own brunette tone; a real trend for 2013.

Jonathan Long, Colour Advisor for nice'n easy gives his top tips on getting the best natural-looking colour at home:

1. Look at your skin tone, eye colour and condsider your hair's current base colour:

If you hvae fair or rosy skin with green or blue eyes you're cool-tones, so go for ashy shades and avoid warm or golden colours.

If you have golden, peachy or olive skin with brown or hazel eyes, you're warm-tones, so go for golen, caramel shades and avoid ashy shades.

2. I would always recommend staying within 1 to 3 shades of your current base colour when colouring your hair at home so it doesn't wash you out. Effortlessly beautiful, natural looking hair is key.

3. It's not necessary for brows and hair to be the same colour. If you stick to the rule of staying within 1 to 3 shades of your natural colour then there is no reason to dye your eyebrows.
