Selena Gomez looked beautiful with her on-trend smokey eye

The smokey eye was still a hot beauty look at this weekend’s past MTV Movie Awards with the Kardashians and Selena Gomez being just a few of the starlets to try out the trend.

The transition from winter to summer can often be tricky when it comes to evening make-up but taking inspiration from the red carpet we can update our evening make-up looks.

Find out how you can re-create the look yourself by following this simple how to from Newby Hands, Editorial Director, of feelunique.com:

“One of my favourite looks from the MTV Movie Awards red carpet was the updated smokey eye to a more rounded, softer and summery look.

“Create the look at home by using soft bronze or taupes (Jane Iredale Daytime Eye Shadow Kit, £39.95) to give a softer, hazier than smokey eye.

“Layer up pencil and liquid liners (Wild About Beauty Eyeshadow Pencil Duo in Annie, £14.50 and Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black, £13) to get a real intensity right into the root of the lashes – and load up your lashes – either with layers of black mascara or get to grips with false lashes (Lancome Virtuose Divine Lasting Curves & Length Mascara, £22).

“Finally, neaten up brows using a brow shaping kit to add definition and frame the eyes (Benefit Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit, £23.50).

“Complete the look with immaculately polished looking skin by layering up products rather than relying on one cover-all base.

“Hydrating serums and dewy moisturisers prep the skin before primer, concealer, and base are blended on (Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation, £28), with powder to mattify and luminous highlight for glow on the cheekbone (Guerlain Meteorites Perles Du Paradis, £43), all contribute to this perfect skin finish.

Finish the look with a slick of nude lipstick (Dior Rouge Nude Lipstick in Ingenue, £25) for an on-trend red carpet look.”
