Emilia Wickstead AW14

Emilia Wickstead AW14

Beauty goes modern for AW14, with a simplistic and cool look seen at Emilia Wickstead.

Mel Arter, Max Factor make-up artist, created the beauty look for the show, here she explains the inspiration:

“She is a heroine who inspires intense interest in everyone she encounters. Masculine meets feminine in search of modern coolness, with a subtle but strong lip and exaggerated eyes.”

The new collection is centred on open shoulders, plunging necklines and assertive silhouettes designed to leave a ‘lasting impression’. Emilia Wickstead’s vision embodied strength and courage so she could take women marching into AW14.

Mel translates this concept into the make-up look. Using new Facefinity All-Day Primer (out in April), skin was prepped to help extend the wear of foundation and neutralised with the new Colour Corrector ‘CC’ Sticks. Mel continues, “The look was centred on film noir androgyny so the girls were accentuated very subtly to enhance their natural beauty, using fingertips to apply and multi-layer products. CC sticks and Facefinity All-Day Primer were key in neutralising and perfecting the skin paving the way for a sculpted cheek and eye socket.”

To beautify the look, Mel used new Lipfinity in ‘Always Delicate’. She explains that for her, this was the perfect “nude”. Eyes were lightly finished with the new Clump Defy Extensions Mascara that was applied to roots of lashes for a subtle lift.
