Gwen Stefani always keeps on top of her looks.

The singer and fashion designer admitted she is vain due to the constant pressure of being in the media spotlight.

She said:" If you had paparazzi outside your house, you’d make sure you’d look good, too. And I’m very vain."

The stunning 37 year old also revealed that she struggles to maintain her US size four figure.

She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine:" It’s very boring and embarrassing and I hate to talk about it, but it’s true, I’ve always been on a diet, ever since I was in sixth grade. It’s an ongoing battle and it’s a nightmare."

On regaining her figure after the birth of her son she added:" It’s so much work afterward to get the weight off. If you just do it, it comes off.

"And when you’re nursing, like I am, your metabolism is like whoosh!"
