Natalie Portman looks to be very close to welcoming her second child, but that hasn’t stopped the actress from making some serious style statements on the red carpet.

With awards season now in full swing Portman, who is Oscar nominated for her role in Jackie, has been showcasing some of the best maternity looks we’ve ever seen on the red carpet, managing to stay chic, while still being comfortable.

At Sunday night’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, Portman wore a beautiful off-white Dior gown. The loose fitting gown featured a fairytale-like train at the bottom and three-quarter length puff sleeves.

Speaking to People, Portman explained that being pregnant is the best excuse to chose comfortable looks for awards season. “I think you can get away with things that are more comfortable,” the 35-year-old said. “You have a good excuse to want to be comfortable.”

Portman teamed her Dior gown with a pair of Tiffany & Co. drop earrings and a matching clutch, while wearing her hair in an elegant up do.

At the Golden Globes earlier this month, Portman chose a mustard coloured Prada gown, which perfectly skimmed her growing bump. The dress featured subtle crystal detailing at the sleeves and hem and the look was topped off by Portman’s sleek half-up do.

The actress is currently gaining accolades for her portrayal of former First Lady Jackie Kennedy, who herself was celebrated as a style icon. Reflecting on their connection, Portman told People: “I’m sure that even subconsciously I’m inspired by Jackie, who had such an incredible style.”

Earlier this month Portman showed off her bump in a pictorial for Vanity Fair, shot by famed fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz.  The black and white images showed Portman wrapped in a sheet while cradling her bump.

The shoot was a subtle homage to Demi Moore‘s iconic August 1991 magazine cover, which was also shot by Leibovitz. Speaking about the images,  Vanity Fair fashion and style director Jessica Diehl explained, “It was about capturing Natalie at her most radiant.”
