Dame Helen looks fantastic at the grand old age of 61 and appears to be defying the passage of time.

She said:” I’m not sexy! J- Lo’s sexy. When I was much younger maybe I was sexy. I don’t know, you can’t ever see it in yourself.”

Despite having an enviably trim figure and an almost wrinkle free face, she has never go under the knife, insisting that the natural look is best.

She told the Mail;” I let go of vanity a while ago, let go of trying to look younger than I was.”

“ It’s brilliant, really, the way life organises itself because you slowly get used to what you are.”

Despite her protestations Mirren will be sasahaying down the red carpet for the Academy Awards later this month.

She is the favourite to win this year’s Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of the monarch in ‘ The Queen.’
