Alexa Chung at the Tommy Hilfiger show during NYFW

Alexa Chung has a new role in the fashion industry, she’s working with Tommy Hilfiger for this season.

The model will act as a guest editor for the brand’s autumn collection, picking her favourite pieces and must-have items from the range in videos to be featured on tommy.com/alexachung.

The program - which launches today - will include Alexa's style essentials every month until January, according to WWD.

The 63-year-old fashion designer confessed it was the brunette beauty's "great sense of style" and 'It' girl status that attracted him to work with her.

He said: "Alexa is the true definition of an 'It' girl - she's cool, witty, smart and has a great sense of style.

"She knows how to mix of-the-moment styling with classic design for a unique look that's totally her own. Alexa will give our customers an insider's view of her must-have pieces from our seasonal collections, all presented through shoppable content on tommy.com and in select Tommy Hilfiger stores across Europe."

This month, Alexa has selected a cowl-neck sweater, black leather leggings, and an A-line skirt, choosing a grey checked wool-blend cocoon coat to finish off the look.

She said of the collaboration: "To be embraced by such a behemoth of an American fashion brand is a huge honour."

Alexa was seen sat front row at the Tommy Hilfiger SS15 show during New York Fashion Week too, she stuck to her classic tomboy style and paired a pair of tailored shorts with brogues and a white shirt, simple and classic.

In a recent interview Alexa revealed how Carrie Bradshaw has influenced her beauty regime too.

Alexa confessed she only began taking care of her body after watching an episode of the show in which Carrie applied copious amounts of body lotion.

Talking to InStyle magazine, she said: "I never used to moisturise my body until I saw Carrie Bradshaw do it on Sex and the City. Kiehl's Creme de Corps feels lovely."

The 30-year-old star also revealed that she worries about her face's moisture levels and steers clear of powder-based cosmetics as a result.

She shared: "I don't like powder blush because I'm paranoid that if you rub powder into your face, it'll get drier and drier. Stila's cream blush has a subtle sheer texture."
