Twiggy uses her own style for inspiration

Twiggy enjoys designing clothes that she can wear.

The 64-year-old icon began her career in fashion in the 60s but has modelled more since she began working with Marks & Spencer than she did in the early years of the job, explaining that she loves working with the brand because she can design clothes that she would wear herself.

She said in an interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine: "What has been so great with M&S is I get to design the clothes I want to wear."

Twiggy, whose real name is Lesley Lawson, had her daughter Carly with her late husband Leigh Lawson, and the 35 year old is proud of her mother's work.

Speaking about Twiggy's 10 collections for the British brand, she said: "It's amazing, just brilliant - she can also sew, knit and make all sorts of things."

Carly - who grew up in the company of her mother's celebrity friends - has developed a working relationship with Stella McCartney, for whom she has designed for six years and Twiggy is happy her daughter decided to follow in her footsteps.

She said: "She's a wonderful artist."
