Barbie's New York Fashion Week show

It seems the fashion world has gone Barbie crazy in the run up to the doll's 50th birthday. First was New York Fashion Week's Barbie runway show and now Henry Holland is to curate a Barbie world.

Vogue.com reports that Dover Street Market will dedicate a space to celebrating the doll with a supersized Barbie coming from the floor, turning everything around her miniature!

Henry said: "She's such an icon and I loved choosing all the stock for Barbie at Dover Street Market. It's also quite scary how much of it I want for myself."

He's not the only member of the London fashion pack to get involved with the Barbie celebrations. Designers Gareth Pugh, Roksanda Ilincic and Danielle Scutt have all contributed as has Jeremy Scott.

Ilinic and Scutt have dresses 50 Barbie dolls and Pugh has dressed 50 Ken dolls, all priced £179.99. He told Vogue: "It was a really fun project, even designing the box. After my menswear show I had lots of ideas, so it was great timing to consider what to dress Ken in."

Jeremy Scott, known for his playful designs, created a £175 Barbie logo skating dress in, what else, pink. Stila has created make-up cans for £50 and there is a coffee table book full of iconic images of the doll for a whopping £500. It seems the Barbie dream world doesn't come cheap!

Barbie general manager and senior vice president, Richard Dickson told Vogue: "As we continue to evolve the Barbie brand, we look to the UK as a major design influence. To see the brand interpreted through a store with fashion credentials like Dover Street Market and witness our brand coming to life in such a progressive way is especially exciting during such a critical year in Barbie history."

The exhibit opens on April 8th, best get saving then! For a cheaper way to enjoy Barbie's fashion watch this video from New York Fashion Week again!
