Lucy Q talks to us

Tell us about your jewellery collection and where your inspiration comes from?

I personally think that Jewellery design should show creativity and originality. All of my designs are contemporary and eye catching. I am very much inspired by natural forms and love to use organic shapes within my Jewellery that appeals to the eye and looks fluid. I am also a very quirky person and love to bring that side of my personality into my work. For example I use silver buttons, jigsaw pieces and may objects that one can relate to.

Has jewellery design always been something you've been interested in?

Yes, since I was 8 I was always memorised by the technique of silversmithing and loved to be able to use my imagination by moulding silver into beautiful objects.

Which other jewellery designers have inspired you?

I love the work of Stephen Webster, Shaun Leanne and the early works of Georg Jenson.

Where would you like to take your collection next? Then where would you like to be in five years time?

I would love to learn more about stones and their elements. I am hoping to launch a collection this year using Swarovski Crystal.

In 5 years time I am hoping to send LucyQ International.

Who would you love to see your collection on celebrity wise?

Some A listers would be amazing. Hollywood stars such as Kate Winslet and Reece Witherspoon would be truly outstanding.

Who would you say your collection is designed for?

I like to think that there is a piece of Jewellery within my collection to suit all. But as the price points are a little higher than some pieces that you would find on the high street I suppose we mainly appeal to women aged 25 and up.

How about your personal style, how would you describe it?

I love to stand out. If I am going somewhere special I like to wear something vintage ie. 50s style.

If you could only wear one piece of jewellery for the rest of your life, what would it be?

My large Drip Necklace without a doubt. Such a statement piece that turns heads where ever you go.

Layering jewellery is a hot trend at the moment, what tips do you have for carrying it off stylishly?

Don’t go OTT with it. Be subtle yet trendy at the same time.

What jewellery trends would you recommend for Spring/Summer?

Eye catching neckwear will be coming in this summer. Leave the earrings behind and look amazing in a statement necklace form LucyQ.
