Prometheus

Prometheus

There is one summer movie still shrouded in plenty of mystery and that is sci-fi film Prometheus.

The movie sees Ridley Scott return to the genre that made his name as he explores deep space one again with this latest project.

Scott and co have been playing this project close to the chest and, if you have seen the teaser trailer, this promises to be one of the most epic movies in this genre - let's all hope it lives up to the hype.

Scott has not made a sci-fi film since Blade Runner but it is Alien for which he is still remembered.

And the director has assembled a stunning cast for this latest foray into the unknown.

Noomi Rapace leads an American movie for the very first time and she is joined by Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce.

In Prometheus, Scott creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe.

There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

There is huge excitement and expectation surrounding this movie because of how under wraps it has been kept - much like Super 8 twelve months ago.

It's been a long time since a sci-fi film really blew audiences away and Prometheus, in the hands of Scott, could well be the movie that bucks that trend.

Every film taste is being catered for this summer so if you are not a superhero movie fan, and there will plenty of those film around in the coming months, then perhaps a trip into the depths and dangers of space is just what you need.

Prometheus is one of the most intriguing movies that will hit the big screen this summer and it is one that I am definitely looking forward to.

Prometheus is released 1st June.
